Heather Seely-Roberts -- "Winning with Christ: Being a part of the real dream team"

A native Oregonian and Oregon State University graduate (go Beavs), Heather Seely-Roberts has been coaching basketball for almost 30 years where she has accumulated over 350 wins as a varsity coach.  Many of those wins came as the girls basketball coach at Ashland, Lakeridge, Canby, and Sprague High Schools, before moving to the east coast to coach at Southern Virginia University for four years.

As her two youngest children, Moroni and Malachi, developed a passion for the sport, the family returned to Oregon where Coach Seely-Roberts became the first female to coach a boys high school varsity basketball team since the 1930's.  Her winning ways continued on the boys side with a state championship in 2021 at Yamhill Carlton High School and a 3rd place finish with Lincoln High School in 2023.  Her success this past year earned her Oregon's highest coaching honor -- coach of the year.

Coach Seely-Roberts is married to Jason Roberts and has five children - Manti, Mosiah, Micah, Moroni, and Malachi along with a cat and 16 chickens.  She served a mission in Houston Texas.

Jeff Bradford --  "Calculating Your Worth:  An attorney's take on the value of your time and your life"

Jeff is husband to Laurel Bradford, M.D., and father to three amazing children.  He lives in the Lake Oswego Stake and serves as a counselor in his ward's bishopric.  In his spare time, Jeff is a partner at the law firm Tonkon Torp, where he specializes in business litigation and advises clients on dispute resolution.

Jonathan Horey - "The Paradox of Perfectionism: How our willingness to be vulnerable with God and others is correlated with joy and resilience."

Dr. Horey is a psychiatrist in private practice and is board-certified in adult psychiatry as well as addiction medicine. He completed his medical training and psychiatry residency in New York City at Columbia University. He then spent three years as the medical director of substance abuse services at Columbia Doctors' Rockefeller Center Clinic. After eleven years in Manhattan, Dr. Horey and, more importantly, his wife Jessica decided that hauling strollers up and down subway stairs had lost its charm so they decided to move to Portland to raise their three children. Dr. Horey's practice focuses on patients suffering from substance use disorders as well as depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric conditions. He is an advanced candidate in psychoanalysis at the Oregon Psychoanalytic Center and has specialized training in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

He currently serves on the High Council of the Lake Oswego Stake and served a mission in Mendoza, Argentina. Dr. Horey remembers having hobbies before he had children but now spends most of his free time coaching youth sports and injuring himself playing in adult basketball, soccer, and softball leagues.

David and Bobbie Poppleton - "What the School of Life Tells Us About Our Worth"

David Poppleton has worked nearly thirty years in the Mental Health field with a history of extensive training and experience in the treatment of substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety disorders and family therapy.  He retired from the Oregon National Guard in 2010 after twenty four years as a Military Chaplain.

Bobbie Poppleton was a sales rep in commercial construction for nearly forty years, starting when women had a very limited presence. During the Covid shutdown, she decided to challenge herself and completed a course of study in Hebraic Context of the Bible. She has held numerous callings including   Stake RS President, Stake Young Women, each of the ward organizations and is currently serving in the most humbling capacity of all -- a seminary teacher.
